Daily Announcements – Friday, September 23, 2022 – Day 6

 

 

Today is free hat day.

We will honor Truth and Reconciliation next week.  Everyone is invited to wear an orange shirt on Thursday. 

The yearbook committee list has been posted by all water fountains and near the main office.  Thanks to all who applied.  With almost 50 applications, the decision was a tough one. Thanks to all who applied and stay tuned for details on when to order this year’s yearbook!

 

The “AA” girls finished with a 1-1 tie to Birchwood in their first game of the season last night. Alyson Scott scored directly off on an in-swinging corner kick to secure the tie. Big saves in net by Jordyn Josey and an impressive defensive game by Brianna Holden. 

The team will practice next week on Monday and Wednesday splitting the field with the “A” boys from 3:00 – 4:30. “AA” boys soccer will practice 4:30 – 6:00 Monday and Wednesday. 

 

The “AA” boys soccer started the season strong with a 4-3 over Birchwood. Henry Nguyen opened the scoring for the team, adding another later in the game. Noah Wyand picked up where he left off last season scoring two goals as well. The team will practice Monday and Wednesday at 4:30PM with a game Thursday against Stonepark.

The “A” boys soccer team will have a meeting in the gym at break to get their jerseys. The team will practice Monday and Wednesday after school with games Tuesday and Thursday next week.

Yesterday the QC Field Hockey team played an incredible game against SIS in Summerside. Despite the wind and rain, the Coyotes scored 4 goals in the first half and 2 in the second half for the 6-0 Win. Congratulations to Ellie Mullins on a hat trick. Goals were also scored by Alexa Doyle, Lexie Singleton and Joelle Bader.  Great passing and put backs on rebounds were key.  Congratulations to Ava Bradley for the shut out and all players on their excellent team work. Way to go Coyotes.

Cross country runners will also practice Monday 315-415.

The “A” girls volleyball is cancelled today. There will be no sports after school due to the pending weather.

Athletes can check the PE bulletin board for next weeks practice schedule. 

The Terry Fox activity scheduled for today has been postponed until Tuesday.
