Social Media & Mental Health Awareness Week

During the week of November 1 - 5, Queen Charlotte will be recognizing our first Social Media and Mental Health Awareness Week. Announcements will be read each day focusing on Social Media and Mental Health Awareness facts, updates, and information throughout the week.

We are creating a designated Tech Free Zone in the library on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday at lunch for students to take a break from their devices in a pressure free area.

On Tuesday, November 2nd, we will also be attempting a Phone Free Afternoon Challenge. Students will be asked to put their phones away for the afternoon. This means no checking social media, no texting, no listening to music....if a student does not use their phone from 1:00 PM until after 3:00 PM that day, they can fill out a ballot for a chance to win a number of prizes...

***On Friday, November 5th, students will be viewing the documentary Screenagers Next Chapter: Developing Skills for Stress Resilience. The viewing will take place in homeroom on Friday morning during 3rd period.  After the viewing, students will have a class discussion with their HR teacher and HR teammate. Teachers will be provided guided questions to help lead the discussion, along with more short video clips to share if desired. We will adjust the morning schedule to support early lunch.
