Daily Announcements – Friday, June 11, 2021 – Day 5

Today's wellness trivia question: Sleep is a very important part of our overall Wellness.
How many hours of sleep should a 13 year-old student get each night?

Yesterday the Queen Charlotte softball team ended their season on a high note after a hard fought game against the #1 seeded Stonepark Tigers. Sarah Wakelin continued to throw well from the mound delivering five strikeouts over four innings. Fantastic defensive efforts were also made by Alex Murphy, Jannah MacCallum and Rory MacIntyre. Marley Nogler lead the Coyotes’ offense going two for two at the plate. The Coaches’ awards went to Alex Murphy for her excellent catch late in center field late in the game, and Johanna Forbes for stepping up to the plate in the last inning to put our team in a scoring position. Congratulations to the Coyotes on a great season!

The boys baseball team beat Stonepark last night in their playoff game by a score of 2-1. The team played very well defensively with amazing diving catch from Carson McBride. Will White was the winning pitcher and Owen Stanley and Eric Huang had 2 big hits in the victory. The team will play again next Tuesday.  Great work boys!

In boys football, QC 2 boys will practice today after school.

Students are reminded that all library books need to be returned by the end of the day Monday. Homeroom teachers will be sent an updated list of outstanding materials on Tuesday; if there are any issues please see Mrs. Giggey A.S.A.P.
