Daily Announcements – Wednesday, June 9, 2021 – Day 3

There is a change in the morning break routine at 10:50 today.  Students are asked to enter through the main cafeteria doors and go to the back of the cafeteria to make your purchases.  Then you are asked to exit through the back door and go to your third period class.  If you are going to phys. ed, please consume your snack before entering the gym.  This will be for today only as some band students are working in the cafeteria.

Mask update:  We are back to wearing our masks as before the recent heat wave.  If another heatwave warning occurs, we will announce the options for not wearing your masks.

The Wellness Week trivia question of the day is:  The Social Dimension of Wellness encourages active engagement with your environment and community. What are five different social opportunities available at Queen Charlotte? And what are five opportunities available in the community? (1/2 point per correct answer today!)

The QC baseball team will be playing their first playoff game on Thursday at City Field vs Stonepark. The game begins at 4:00, and players are asked to be ready to warm up at 3:30.

9E and 9F can sign up to be in the Wellness room today at lunch.

Yesterday the softball team played an excellent playoff game against East Wiltshire winning by a score of 16-8.  A great effort and positive attitude was shown by all players on and off the field.  Rory MacIntyre went four for five at the plate with two singles, a triple and a walk, scoring 4 runs.  The offensive player of the game, selected by coaches, was Hailey Bernard with back to back home runs and 2 singles.  The defensive player of the game, selected by coaches, was Sarah Wakelin pitching 12 strikeouts and fielding 2twoouts for a whopping 14 of 21 outs. Congratulations Coyotes.  Good luck tomorrow in the quarter-final game against Stonepark at 4:30 at Mulberry Field.  Go Coyotes Go!

There are a limited number of extra yearbooks provided by the yearbook publisher and they will be available to grade nine students at 12:10 today.  If there are extras after that, they will be available to grade seven and eight students on Thursday at 12:10.
