The QC2 A Girls Flag Football team had a strong start to their season last night, In game one they made a huge comeback against Francios Buote. Winning the game 32-12. Touchdowns by Brielle Campbell, Amelia Mahar and Remi Adeyanju. Inceptions by defensive players Gracie Winslow and Precious Olanyemi. In game two against Morell, both offence and defence fought hard but came up short losing the game 20-14. All players showed great leadership and team work in both games! Practice for the A girls today from 3-4:30!
For girl’s flag football QC Team 3, it was an exciting open to the season with games against Montague and Birchwood. The first game versus Montague had the team led by quarterback Norah Cameron, come from a 13-0 deficit with Maizie Wakelin scoring two touchdowns. Unfortunately we didn’t make the conversions and it was a 13-12 loss. Game two against Birchwood was also an exciting game with interceptions by Ashyele Yankey and Ada Demirbas. Maizie Wakelin had her third touchdown of the night and rookie Alexis Barrett picked up the second touchdown. Even with the amazing defensive flagging by Kaitlin MacLean and Faredah Ibiyeye, we came up shy of the win, with an 18-12 loss. Coaches are very proud of the hardwork and positive attitude - go Coyotes!
